Mid-Century Modern Eichler - Palo Alto

This full home remodel breathes new life into a classic Palo Alto Eichler, honoring the integrity of the original mid-century modern architecture while reimagining it for the way a contemporary family lives today.

The project encompasses a complete whole-home renovation — preserving the signature post-and-beam structure, clerestory windows, and indoor-outdoor flow that make Eichler homes so beloved — while updating every system, finish, and spatial relationship from the ground up. The result is a home that feels unmistakably mid-century and unmistakably now.

Throughout, the design draws on Bay Area Designs' signature Warm Modern aesthetic — natural materials, clean lines, and a deep respect for California's indoor-outdoor living tradition. The palette is warm and grounded: wood, concrete, steel, and stone selected to age beautifully and complement the Eichler's original spirit.
